Wi-Fi in homes without Ethernet wiring
If your home doesn't have Ethernet cables, our first recommendation is to install them. This is the slightly more expensive solution, but it provides lower "total cost of ownership", better reliability and longevity.
The more expedient solution is to use MoCA adapters; devices that convert Ethernet to Coax and vice-versa. We use these devices work in homes with coax cabling but that lack Ethernet wiring.
Please note that the estimates below assume modern homes with common construction materials. Older construction materials and dense objects such as wood beams, fireplaces, radiant floors and lath/plaster or brick walls are significant obstacles for the Wi-Fi radio waves. Accordingly, some homes may need more Access Points than these estimates assume. Conversely, those homes with significant "open plan" areas may require fewer Access Points. These estimates are only offered as guide based on our experiences.

Cost Estimates:
For homes in the 2,500 to 4,000 sf range, the Wi-Fi network will typically require 3 Access Points, 4 MoCa Adapters and an entry-level PoE switch. The cost to deploy this solution will be about $5,700. Here is a sample proposal:

For homes in the 4,000 to 5,000 sf range, the Wi-Fi network will typically require 4 Access Points, 5 MoCa Adapters and a mid-level PoE Switch. The cost to deploy this solution will be about $7,000. Here is a sample proposal:

For homes in the 5,000 to 6,000 sf range, the Wi-Fi network will typically require 5 Access Points, 6 MoCa Adapters and a mid-level PoE Switch. The cost to deploy this solution will be about $7,600. Here is a sample proposal:

For homes in the 6,000 to 7,000 sf range, the Wi-Fi network will typically require 6 Access Points, 7 MoCa Adapters and a larger PoE Switch. The cost to deploy this solution will be about $8,600. Here is a sample proposal:

For homes above 7,000 sf, it's probably best to call us.
